I made this recipe for the first time about three months ago. I swear I have made it ten times since then. It will forever be a family favorite. And because it has healthy ingredients (whole wheat flour! oats! applesauce!) it's practically good for you.
Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Bars
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup oil (OR 1/2 cup oil, 1/2 cup applesauce)
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups quick oats
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup nuts (optional)
Cream together margarine, oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add dry
ingredients and mix well. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Put in 9x13
pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30-32 minutes.
