Perch (fish) my husband caught at the lake (dipped first in egg and then flour with spices), grilled zucchini fresh from the garden, homemade potato chips (russet potatoes cut 1/8 inch thick, drizzled with olive oil, sea salt and dried rosemary, and baked for 20 minutes)

maybe it's the dipping in egg and flour that i don't do that makes such a difference.

we had breaded chicken breasts with not so fresh but still tasty corn on the cob and crinkle cut fries (fresh from the plastic bag)

Grilled zucchini and yellow summer squash (sliced with olive oil & salt/pepper) on bread with pesto. Accompanied by corn on the cob.
